The Bluestripe Clownfish is also known as the Orange-finned Clownfish and Orangefin Anemonefish. It has a yellowish-brown base color with two light blue stripes, one behind the eyes, and one at the middle of the body. The entire tail is yellow in this variant which is found in the South Pacific. Orange dominates the face, dorsal fin, and pectoral fins. The remainder of the body can vary from dark orange to black.
This clownfish is very demanding and requires more expertise and care than most other species of clowns, and should only be maintained by experienced hobbyists who are familiar with this delicate shipper. Bluestripe Clownfish are often prone to contracting parasitic infections such as Brooklynella hostilis, and should be quarantined before they are placed in the display aquarium. It can become aggressive and territorial once adjusted to the aquarium.
A 30 gallon or larger aquarium that has no other clownfish is desirable. It is semi-aggressive towards other clownfish and passive tank mates. An anemone host such as Entacemaea quadricolor or Heteractis crispa, or a bulb anemone is preferred, but not required.
The Bluestripe Clownfish diet consists of meaty items as well as herbivore preparations.
